In 2020, Coventry and Leamington will celebrate Green Week from 2 to 8 March.
Climate change and pollutions are major threats to world peace and especially give rise to anxiety in many young people. Tackling these topics which therefore could fit in well with a peace project.
For the past few years the University of Warwick and Warwick Student Union, Coventry University, Coventry University Student Union, Coventry City Council, Warwick District Council and Action 21 have worked together to engage university departments, businesses, schools, charities and community groups across the region to bring you a week of educational events and talks as well as activities galore during Green Week.
The aim is to educate and create action on sustainability (Using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as an explanation for what we mean by sustainability). They want as many groups, businesses, schools etc etc involved as possible. It can involve anything, it could be a talk, it could be running a film screening, it could be a table somewhere, it could be an action people do at work e.g. a day where everyone cycles in, it could be a non-uniform day where people give a pound to plant a tree, it could be a religious meeting which focuses on sustainability in their prayer or sunday school craft session. The diary of events will include craft sessions, film screenings, swap shops, disco soup, repair sessions, talks.
